At the 15th Airshow China in Zhuhai on November 12, 2024, Thales and EASTEC signed a renewed partnership agreement, extending their collaboration for another five years. Under this agreement, Thales will continue to provide maintenance and repair services for its avionics equipment on China Eastern Airlines’ A320, A330, and B737 fleet until 2029.
This contract extension builds on a successful partnership that began in 2018 and marks an important milestone in the decade-long relationship between Thales and EASTEC. The renewal reflects the high level of trust in Thales’s service quality and its commitment to supporting the expanding aviation market in China.
Thales’s services will be delivered through two key facilities: Thales Aerospace Beijing Co., Ltd., the company’s local maintenance centre in China, and Thales Aviation Global Services (AGS) in Singapore. The combined expertise of these centres will ensure comprehensive support for China Eastern Airlines, which has equipped 270 of its A320 aircraft with Thales avionics solutions since 2014. These include the Thales Flight Management Systems (FMS), Low Range Radio Altimeters (LRRA), and T3CAS integrated surveillance system.
In addition to the long-standing avionics supply relationship, China Eastern and Thales solidified their cooperation in 2018 with a Strategic Maintenance Cooperation Agreement, reinforcing the comprehensive nature of their partnership.
Thomas Got, Vice President of Aviation Global Services at Thales Avionics, expressed pride in the continued collaboration, stating, “We are proud to strengthen our partnership with EASTEC, reinforcing our position as a trusted partner in the region. At Thales, we leverage our global expertise to deliver high-quality premium solutions to EASTEC and our local customers and partners.”
Thales continues to lead in innovation and is committed to meeting the evolving demands of the aviation industry, ensuring continued excellence in both its products and services.
