Arquus Showcases Long-Standing Partnership with Qatar at Milipol Qatar

Arquus is participating in Milipol Qatar, a significant security exhibition taking place from October 29 to 31 in Doha. As a long-standing partner of the Qatari armed forces and security services, Arquus will be present under the French pavilion alongside John Cockerill Defence, highlighting its latest innovations in security solutions.

For over four decades, Arquus has been dedicated to supporting Qatar’s armed forces and security services, playing a crucial role in their modernization and operational effectiveness. This partnership dates to 1982, when Arquus delivered the first VAB armored vehicles, followed by the VBL models, which remain in service today. Since then, trust between Arquus and Qatar has only strengthened.

In 2018, the relationship evolved further with the signing of a contract for the modernization of VAB mk1 vehicles. This ambitious program includes modification studies, vehicle repairs, and training for industrial and military personnel, leading to the establishment of a local production line in Qatar. To date, Arquus has fully renovated 126 vehicles, becoming the first French defence company to set up military vehicle production directly in Qatar and demonstrating its commitment to long-term support for the nation.

Arquus is also actively involved with Qatar’s internal security forces, particularly with special operations and support units. These units have acquired armoured vehicles such as the HIGUARD 6×6 and the SHERPA 4×4, tailored for security missions, public order maintenance, and the protection of critical infrastructure.

From patrolling and border control to special forces and counter-terrorism operations, the Arquus security range addresses a wide array of missions with battle-proven vehicles. The adaptable SHERPA, a best-seller, meets various operational needs, while the VAB MK3 is a robust 6×6 vehicle capable of transporting a large crew. Arquus teams will be on-site at Milipol Qatar to showcase the full security range.

Additionally, the exhibition will serve as a platform to discuss the latest armoured vehicle introduced at Eurosatory 2024, the MAV’RX.

The MAV’RX, designed for the Middle Eastern terrain, is an 8×8 vehicle that combines high payload capacity, enhanced protection, and medium-caliber armament while ensuring excellent mobility. This multi-mission vehicle is equipped to transport a combat group, conduct medical evacuations, and provide direct or indirect fire support.

Leveraging Arquus’s expertise in systems integration, the MAV’RX can be fitted with HORNET remote-controlled weapon stations. With a payload capacity for 25/30 mm armaments, it is also compatible with Cockerill turrets, such as the CPWS from John Cockerill Defence, a company now part of Arquus. The two companies will share a stand at this year’s Milipol Qatar.

Arquus, with over 12 years of support for vehicles used by Qatar’s internal forces, remains a committed partner as it showcases its security range at Milipol Qatar. This enduring and strategic partnership highlights Arquus’s dedication to aiding Qatar in achieving greater sovereignty and security through robust, innovative, and customized solutions.
