Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the R&D wing of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India is participating in the EDEX 2023 with high hopes in expanding its business. The expo presents a unique opportunity for DRDO labs to showcase their latest technology, equipment and systems across land, sea, and air. As part of the integrated India Pavilion, DRDO is participating to showcase Indian defence export prowess ranging from design to production to development.
In EDEX 2023, DRDO is displaying the following flagship technologies that includes Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) System, Astra – Air to Air Missile, Pinaka Weapon System, Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS), MBT Arjun Mk 1A, Akash Missile System, Submarine Sonar Suite (SMS-X), Portable Drive Detection Sonar (PDDS-X), Compact Hull Mounted Sonar System for Ship(HMS-X2), Identification of the friend or foe (IFF) System.
Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO wishes grand success to EDEX 2023 in continuing the legacy of India-Egypt defence relations, bolstering ties between the two countries, opening new arenas for future collaborations, and finding new markets for DRDO products as envisaged by the Government of India.
DRDO is primarily engaged in the design and development of many state-of-the-art systems and technologies like Missiles and missile-based Air Defence Systems, Light Combat Aircraft, Main Battle Tanks, Gun Systems, UAVs and Counter UAVs, Multi-barrel Rocket Launcher, Radars, Naval Systems and Life Science and soldier support related products.
With its comprehensive spectrum of technologies and systems encompassing the entire range of defence requirements, DRDO is the driving force behind self-reliance in the Indian defence sector. DRDO’s participation in this biennial mega event is an opportunity to leverage world-class ‘Made in India’ Products, Technologies and Systems by all friendly countries.
DRDO has enabled the Indian industries to produce quality defence systems for export, which help establish and nurture long-term relationships with friendly countries besides strengthening their Defence Forces and Homeland Security.
